Wharenui

We have been learning about wharenui and this is my writing.
Wharenui

A Wharenui represents an ancestor that was a leader of a tribe. The pole that
runs down the middle on the roof is the spine/ tahuhu and the pole that runs
down in the middle of the wharenui is the heart/ Poutokomanawa. The head
on the top is the koruru.

The Wharenui is like a book. Each carving tells a different story. They have
pictures in the back of the wharenui of other special ancestors that have
passed away. There are other important things about the Wharenui like if
houses blew away the wharenui opens the doors and let people stay there.
And give them food/kai and like a warm house for them.  They also use it for
different reasons like funeral/ tangi, meetings, weddings and birthdays. And
you can learn a lot of things in a Wharenui. These are the reasons a wharenui
is important.
